Lormetazepam is a prescription-only medicine that doctors use to treat short-term insomnia. This is particularly true when insomnia becomes stressful for the patient or is disabling. Lormetazepam Prolepha 1 mg is now available in the Netherlands.

Usage Instructions:
- A doctor has to define the duration and dosage of the therapy and individualize it.

- To extend the duration of the treatment, one must follow it with a re-evaluation of the need for continued therapy.
- The dosage for adults is typically 1 mg to 1.5 mg before retiring for bed.
- The dosage is typically slightly lower for the elderly.

Precautions:
- Lormetazepam enhances the sedative effects of alcohol. Avoid alcohol when taking Lormetazepam.
- Do not drive or operate machinery when taking Lormetazepam unless you are sure how the medicine affects you.
- Lormetazepam is associated with adverse side effects such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, muscle fatigue, and ataraxia.
- Lormetazepam is not meant to be the primary discourse for depressive disorders or psychotic illness.
