Indications:
- Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) associated with narcolepsy
Usage Instructions:
- Take Modafinil (modvigil) 200 mg tablets by mouth with a glass of water
- Go by the directions on the prescription label. Modafinil tends to become addictive at times. Taking the medicine exactly as prescribed lowers the risk of addiction.
- The medicine is not approved for use by children
- In the case of a suspected overdose, contact the poison control center immediately
- Do not share your medicine with anyone
- For narcolepsy, take one pill in the morning or the daily dose may be divided into two, one for morning and one for noon.
- For obstructive sleep apnea, the dosage is generally prescribed for the morning, with or without food.
- For shift work disorder, 1 dose is generally taken an hour before your shift starts.
Precautions:
- Tell your doctor in advance if you suffer from liver disease, kidney disease, food allergies or are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Do not double-dose the medicine if you miss it once
- Tell your doctor about the other medications that you take to minimize the odds of drug interactions
- Ask your doctor if you should limit caffeine-related products while on these medications
- Suddenly stopping the use of the medicine could result in withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, chills, and sweating.
- If you feel that you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms, contact your doctor.
- Consult with your doctor if you have been taking Modafinil for a long time and it no longer works well.
Storage:
- Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.
